Backward Design Resolution 1

My Goal: By the end of my next Backwards Design unit, I would like to increase my use of NonLinguistic Representations so students have one more way to share their learning.  Resource 1: I retweeted a post from a user named Sam Vikili stating, " 40-50% of the outcome of a conversation comes from # nonlinguistic signaling #behavior . #negotiation #businessadvisor #conversation #skill #BusinessGrowthConsulting #management #leadershipmatters #AI #ML #MachineLearning " I found this helpful because it supports the idea that nonlinguistic representations are important and applicable outside of an educational setting. I think I could potentially use this when teaching my students about body language. Resource 2: I saw a user post about Piktochart which is a free service people can use to create visual aids. Leadership Goal 1

My goal is to keep myself positive instead of letting myself be dragged into negativity. I find so much joy and respect for my work in my classroom, directly dealing with students, but it's like everything else outside of my room is triggering me because it's so disorganized. I'm feeling frustrated because of coworkers, admin, and district-level decisions.  I plan on trying to cut back on my duties outside of my classroom, like PBIS and other leadership opportunities. I'm just starting to feel like I can't possibly enact change in my school because I've been trying for 5 years and nothing seems to be working. I'm ignored. So I need to cut back on everything and just worry about my students and their progress. While this sucks, I think it's best for my sense of joy and mental health. As much as I believe in the work of PBIS and my extracurriculars, I'm finding that I can't do them with fidelity because there are no bigger structural systems...
