Backward Design Resolution 1
My Goal:
I found this helpful because it supports the idea that nonlinguistic representations are important and applicable outside of an educational setting. I think I could potentially use this when teaching my students about body language.
Resource 2:
I saw a user post about Piktochart which is a free service people can use to create visual aids. I know a few coworkers have used this to create their syllabus and I remembered them looking super great so maybe I could look into this for my students. There are plenty of assignments that could be easily adapted to this type of service.
Resource 3:
Finally, I saw a post about Canva. I use Canva all the time to create resources for my job, but I've not had students use it. I could consider finding an opportunity for students to create a nonlinguistic representation using this web service.
By the end of my next Backwards Design unit, I would like to increase my use of NonLinguistic Representations so students have one more way to share their learning.
Resource 1:
I retweeted a post from a user named Sam Vikili stating, "40-50% of the outcome of a conversation comes from #nonlinguistic signaling #behavior. #negotiation #businessadvisor #conversation #skill #BusinessGrowthConsulting #management #leadershipmatters #AI #ML #MachineLearning"
